Update on a potential Brock Lesnar vs. Steve Austin match at WrestleMania

Here's an update on Steve Austin at WrestleMania. People in WWE that are close to the situation know nothing about an Austin vs. Lesnar match and every indication from Austin has been that he is not going to wrestle again. A few months ago when Paul Heyman was on Austin's podcast and Austin cut the promo, Dave Meltzer was told point blank by someone in the company that Austin wasn't going to wrestle at WrestleMania and Vince McMahon was upset at Austin's promo. Obviously, if there was ever going to be a time for Austin to have his last match then WrestleMania 32 in Dallas would be the place. If it doesn't happen then that probably closes the door for good.

Something must have changed in a big way in recent weeks because of McMahon's decision to have the blow off to Brock Lesnar vs. Undertaker at Hell in a Cell and not at WrestleMania as originally planned. The only thing Vince has said is that he made the call because he wanted to go in a new direction for WrestleMania. Again, Rock vs. Triple H is one of the matches planned so you can take The Rock out of the picture as a potential opponent for Brock Lesnar. They could do Cena vs. Lesnar but that match has been done so many times that it wouldn't feel as big. If they do Roman Reigns vs. Lesnar then they will risk getting the same type of crowd reaction as last year with fans cheering Lesnar over Reigns. I don't see how that helps Reigns unless Reigns wrestles as a heel.

Regarding Austin, there are still some people who believe that some sort of angle will be shot on 10/19 in Dallas.

I would like to add (and this may not mean anything for a potential Austin match at WrestleMania) that Austin has gotten himself in tremendous shape in recent weeks.
