Dave Meltzer noted on Wednesday’s Wrestling Observer Radio that the former WWE Champion is still hopeful and in the plans for this year’s WrestleMania.
As seen at the WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view event in Houston, Texas at the Minute Maid Park, Styles was injured in the Men’s Royal Rumble Match when Styles landed awkwardly on his shoulder after taking a spear from WWE Hall of Famer Edge. An audible was made and he was tossed out of the ring shortly thereafter, which wasn’t planned.
It was reported earlier this week that Styles has a shoulder separation This means he will need to take time off.
Meltzer noted that Styles is optimistically four-to-six weeks away from a full recovery. It was also noted that Styles didn’t blame Edge for the injury because he wanted to take a big bump for the spot and simply just landed wrong.
This comes after Styles had to miss time after WrestleMania 35 when he suffered a hip injury following his match with Randy Orton.
WWE holds the WrestleMania 36 pay-per-view event on Sunday, April 5, 2020 in Tampa, Florida at the Raymond James Stadium. To read about top WrestleMania matches, click here.
