The Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court has released court documents which provide updates on the current status of WWE Doctor Chris Amann Libel/Slander lawsuit against Phil “CM Punk” Brooks and Colt Cabana, which is from comments Punk made during an appearance on Colt Cabana’s “Art of Wrestling” podcast last November about Amann’s treatment of Punk while in WWE.
Amann filed the lawsuit against the two men back on February 19th. The latest update is that the Judge assigned the case to a category and allowed 28 months for discovery of new evidence. Basically, that means that both parties now have up to 28 months to exchange information, obtain medical documentation, depose witnesses, etc.
That still does not necessarily mean that the case will go to trial, but this will be hanging over both Punk and Cabana for some time. You can see a screenshot (courtesy of WrestleZone.com) of the updates down below:
