Update on Daniel Bryan's WWE contract status

WWE

WWE

As noted on Saturday, WWE is going to run another major stadium show in Australia later this year. They will load the show up with every top star on the active roster and some legends are scheduled to appear in an effort to fill up the 100,000-seat Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Saturday, October 6, 2018.

The advertisement sent out includes The Undertaker, John Cena, Roman Reigns, Charlotte Flair, Triple H, Ronda Rousey, Asuka, The Miz, Braun Strowman, Nia Jax, AJ Styles, Bobby Lashley, Bobby Roode, Sasha Banka, Finn Balor, Randy Orton, Alexa Bliss, Shinsuke Nakamura, Carmella, Bray Wyatt, The New Day, The IIconics, and Samoa Joe. Shawn Michaels is also advertised to appear but it's unlikely that he would actually wrestle on the show.

Daniel Bryan is also listed for the show and it has fans wondering what this means in regards to his contract status because his deal expires on September 1st.

Dave Meltzer cleared this up on Sunday's Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Despite being advertised for the show, Bryan has yet to sign a new contract with WWE. It's unclear when we might know more but if he does not sign a new deal, then SummerSlam weekend could be the end of his run with the company for the foreseeable future.

You shouldn't look too much into who is advertised because the card can change, similar to how some names were removed from Greatest Royal Rumble advertising during the week before the show.
