On Sunday’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez and Dave Meltzer discussed tonight’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view and Meltzer backed up the recent rumors about Edge.
Meltzer said he was led to believe that Edge would be returning tonight on the pay-per-view in Houston, TX. As I wrote about on Friday, sources in the company told me that Edge was scheduled to be in Houston sometime today.
Edge has been downplaying rumors of his return. On Saturday, he posted a photo of his daughter from his home in Asheville, North Carolina while mentioning that his wife, Beth Phoenix, was on the road for work. Beth Phoenix is scheduled to be in the women’s Royal Rumble match.
As for Edge, I was told that tonight’s appearance is not a one-time deal. I was told that there are plans for him at WrestleMania.
