Update on Mauro Ranallo, Corey Graves apologized to Frank Shamrock

On today's Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez talked about the Mauro Ranallo-Corey Graves situation.

Ranallo did not appear on this week's episode of WWE NXT and Beth Phoenix said that she was looking forward to having Ranallo back on the show next week. Tom Phillips filled in for Ranallo this week.

Dave Meltzer said that Ranallo is in rough shape and it's been pretty bad for him during the last couple of days. Meltzer added that it's a day by day thing and there is no way of knowing what will happen next so it's not a guarantee that he will be back on NXT next week.

"It was a very unfortunate situation and we've spoken a lot about it. It's probably worse than we said," Meltzer said.

As previously noted, Graves apologized on his podcast. He has told people that he was trying to shoot an angle that plays into the brand warfare even though his tweet was directed at Ranallo and he offered praise to the other commentators, Beth Pheonix and Nigel McGuinness, who are also with NXT. So, the story that he was shooting an angle doesn't make sense.

Meltzer noted that Graves has apologized to Frank Shamrock. Graves has yet to delete the tweet that started all of this. He also has note pulled his tweets that were directed at Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez.
