On this week’s episode of WWE Backstage on Fox Sports 1, Seth Rollins was the special guest and he was asked about CM Punk.
Rollins said, “to be honest with you, I’m here [and] he’s not here. I’m not shocked about that but I think I’ve exhausted all of my energy on the subject. I just don’t think it’s going anywhere. I’m not shocked that he’s not here so I think it’s time to maybe move on to something that matters…I wish he was here, I wish we could have a face to face but it’s not in the cards.”
So, either Rollins is still going into business for himself or there is a super-secret deal in place and they are slowly building to Rollins vs. Punk at WrestleMania 36 in Tampa, Florida. If there is a deal then it would be news to most people in WWE because people in the company are under the impression that Punk has not spoken with anyone in the company, including Triple H and Vince McMahon. Punk is being paid by FOX, not WWE.
Dave Meltzer recently reported that McMahon was furious at Rollins for mentioning Punk last week during Raw in Chicago. Click here for more backstage news on that situation.

Towards the end of this week’s show, it was announced that Punk would be on next week. Punk quote retweeted, “no cornballs allowed.”
