News regarding The Undertaker making upcoming WWE appearances has surfaced online.
The future WWE Hall of Famer is slated to appear on the September 10th episode of SmackDown Live that takes place at Madison Square Garden. Also, he’s advertised to appear on the October 2nd episode of SmackDown Live, which marks the 20th anniversary show and the first episode on FOX.
Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that although the belief was that WWE added Taker to the SmackDown 20th anniversary show over weak ticket sales, that isn’t the case. Instead, it had been planned for a while now.
As of this writing, there’s no word yet as to why WWE officials decided until this past week to advertise him for this show.
For those who are wondering, Taker is not currently scheduled for the WWE Clash of Champions pay-per-view despite the fact that the September 10th episode will serve as the go-home Clash of Champions show for the SmackDown brand.
Taker is set to just appear on these two episodes of SmackDown and is not currently scheduled to wrestle a match.
