It looks like WWE has changed course on plans for the Cain Velasquez vs. Brock Lesnar match for Crown Jewel.
During the press conference and media scrum on Friday in Las Vegas, there was no mention of the title being on the line in Saudi Arabia and people in the company were told not to mention the WWE Championship. That is why there was no mention of the match being a title match in the original article that was posted on WWE.com.
WWE is now saying that the title will indeed be on the line so it looks like there’s a chance that Velasquez could win the title in his first match with WWE.
I was told that the match on October 31st is just the start of their feud so I would say the chances are pretty high that we’ll see a screwjob finish so they can extend their feud.
WWE Crown Jewel will take place on Thursday, October 31st in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The event will start at 1 pm eastern and will air live on the WWE Network.
Here is the updated card for WWE Crown Jewel:
Brock Lesnar (Champion) vs. Cain Velasquez
Braun Strowman vs. Tyson Fury
Team Hulk Hogan vs. Team Ric Flair
Seth Rollins, Rusev, TBA, TBA, TBA vs. Randy Orton, Baron Corbin, TBA, TBA, TBA
At the press conference, Triple H said that Roman Reigns will be on the show but there’s no word yet on his opponent.
