Update on when WWE could take NXT TV on the road

An update has surfaced regarding WWE taking NXT television events on the road.

WWE still plans to hold NXT episodes from Winter Park, Florida at Full Sail University this year. Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that there is talk going around that they will continue to use Full Sail as a venue to tape episodes but won’t be there every week.

The idea is to do some shows live at Full Sail and some in arenas outside Florida. By using Full Sail, the company saves money because many stars live in Florida and WWE doesn’t have to pay for flights.

The belief within WWE is that part of the reason that NXT is declining ratings is because of its look as Full Sail is a smaller venue compared to its competition, AEW, running bigger buildings.

Meltzer reported last week that there was a lot of talk regarding taking NXT on the road every Wednesday and looking at 5,000-seat buildings, similar to AEW. The target seems to be January.

AEW Dynamite has defeated NXT in the ratings since October 2nd when they started to go head-to-head.
