Dawson's deal was set to expire in April while Wilder’s contract was up in June. As noted, WWE was going to add time to Dawson’s deal due to him missing time with injuries.

WWE had sent Dawson and Wilder home before the announcement of their releases last month.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reports that “WWE gave The Revival an out if the duo signed over a number of trademarks that Wheeler and Harwood spent their own money to acquire.”

It was also noted that their releases were finalized shortly before the announcement was made on WWE’s official website. It turns out that the two sides had actually been working on it for quite a while.

Now, The Revolt is expected to sign with AEW and the teases of their arrival has already begun. To see the latest teaser, click here.
