As noted over the weekend, WWE will be replacing the Elimination Chamber in February with a show titled WWE Fast Lane. The plan is to move the Chamber show to June and then they would try to have Elimination Chamber and Money in the Bank. Those two shows have been their strongest “B” shows in recent years.
The feeling is that they can get people to subscribe to the WWE Network for the Royal Rumble. Those subscriptions would end in June and that’s when they would want stronger than average shows. The need to have a big show in February is not as important as it was in the past.
The Chamber show was the most successful “B” show in 2011 (about equal to Money in the Bank). It was the third most successful “B” show of 2012 (behind Cena vs. Lesnar at Extreme Rules and Hell in a Cell with Ryback’s streak) and was the most successful “B” show last year. It beat out the Cena vs. Orton unification match at TLC in December.
