Updated list of names being considered for the 2017 WWE Hall Of Fame

As of now, Kurt Angle is the only name officially announced for the 2017 WWE Hall Of Fame. They had to announce a big name in advance of tickets going on sale. Apparently, the decision was not made until days or hours before it was announced because Angle says that they didn’t call him until hours before word got out on Monday. After Angle got the call then that’s when WWE contacted ESPN so they could break the story.

Other names being discussed for this year, as reported by the Wrestling Observer newsletter, include Diamond Dallas Page, “Ravishing” Rick Rude, Beth Phoenix, Christian, William Regal, Mike Rotunda, and The Natural Disasters (Fred “Typhoon” Ottman and John “Earthquake” Tenta). Ottman is still hospitalized as of this writing and has been in rough shape for over a week. Teddy Long’s name has also come up in recent days.

Vader is apparently not on the list although he is worthy of an induction. Vader has talked about his heart issues and he believed that he had 2 years to live but that may not be the case after getting a different opinion from another doctor. He has been at DDP’s Performance Center in Atlanta and the weight loss might help some of his health issues.

The 2017 WWE Hall Of Fame will take place on 3/31 at the Amway Center in Orlando, FL. Tickets are on sale.
