Full Match Card and Storylines

Street Fight for the Undisputed WWE Championship: John Cena (c) vs. Cody Rhodes This match serves as a highly anticipated rematch from WrestleMania 41, where John Cena defeated Cody Rhodes to become the Undisputed WWE Champion. During a contract signing on the latest episode of SmackDown, Cena attempted to back out of the scheduled SummerSlam match, citing that he was “emotionally exhausted” from filming a movie and that postponing the match was “best for business”. An enraged Rhodes responded by attacking the champion, putting him through the announce table, and physically forcing Cena’s hand to sign the contract. After the signature was secured, Rhodes revealed that the contract now stipulated their rematch would be a Street Fight.

Steel Cage Match for the WWE United States Championship: Solo Sikoa (c) vs. Jacob Fatu The “Blood vs. Blood” feud between cousins Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu will be settled inside a Steel Cage. The rivalry began at the Money in the Bank event when Jacob Fatu betrayed Sikoa by attacking him during the ladder match, turning face in the process. Sikoa later defeated Fatu for the United States Championship at Night of Champions, but the victory came only after significant interference from Sikoa’s faction, the MFT’s. The steel cage stipulation was added by SmackDown General Manager Adam Pearce to prevent the MFT’s from interfering in the title match.

Singles Match for the World Heavyweight Championship: Gunther (c) vs. CM Punk This dream match was made after CM Punk won a number one contender’s gauntlet match on an episode of Raw. The opportunity for a new challenger arose after Seth Rollins suffered a legitimate knee injury, which forced him out of action, while still holding the Money In The Bank briefcase. Punk now has the chance to win a world title, but must defeat the dominant and longest-reigning champion in modern WWE history, Gunther.

Tag Team Match: Randy Orton and Jelly Roll vs. Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul This celebrity-infused rivalry got heated at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event when Drew McIntyre attacked country music star Jelly Roll. Randy Orton, who has had his own long-running issues with McIntyre, came to the musician’s aid. The feud escalated on a subsequent episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, where Logan Paul interrupted Orton’s interview and slapped Jelly Roll, only to be chokeslammed through a table by the guest host, leading to this star-studded tag team match being set for SummerSlam.

Triple Threat Match for the Women’s World Championship: Naomi (c) vs. Rhea Ripley vs. Iyo Sky Naomi shocked the everyone at the Evolution premium live event when she successfully cashed in her Money in the Bank contract on Iyo Sky to win the Women’s World Championship. To settle the score between the three top competitors, this high-stakes triple threat match was made official for SummerSlam, with all three women having a claim to the title.

Singles Match for the WWE Women’s Championship: Tiffany Stratton (c) vs. Jade Cargill After winning a number one contender’s tournament on SmackDown, the undefeated Jade Cargill earned her first championship opportunity in WWE. She is now set to challenge the confident Tiffany Stratton for the WWE Women’s Championship in a highly anticipated one-on-one encounter.

Singles Match for the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Lyra Valkyria This match features a classic mentor vs. protege backstory, as Lyra Valkyria was mentored by Becky Lynch during her time in NXT. Valkyria won a battle royal on Raw to earn the right to challenge the inaugural Women’s Intercontinental Champion, setting up an emotional and personal championship match between the two Irish superstars.

Tag Team Match for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship: The Judgment Day (Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez) (c) vs. Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss After both making their long-awaited returns from significant injuries, wrestling veterans Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss have formed a formidable new tag team. They will look to end the dominant reign of the Judgment Day’s Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez and capture the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.
