WWE added several matches to the WrestleMania 42 card during Monday’s Raw at Madison Square Garden, bringing the total number of announced matches to 12.
Penta retained the Intercontinental Championship against Kofi Kingston and announced after the match that he will defend the title in a ladder match at WrestleMania. WWE later confirmed the participants: Penta (c) vs. Dragon Lee vs. JD McDonagh vs. Je’Von Evans vs. Rusev.
Gunther attacked Seth Rollins after Rollins returned from his absence and attempted to hit Paul Heyman with a chair. Gunther pulled Rollins from the ring, applied a sleeper, and pointed to the WrestleMania sign. Adam Pearce confirmed after the attack that Rollins is medically cleared and the match between Rollins and Gunther is official for WrestleMania.
Finn Balor cut a promo saying he is responsible for creating the version of Dominik Mysterio that fans see today and that he is now responsible for destroying him at WrestleMania. Mysterio responded and accepted.
The Women’s Tag Team Championships will be defended in a Fatal Four-Way Tag Team Match after the title match between Nia Jax and Lash Legend and Bayley and Lyra Valkyria ended in a disqualification when Charlotte Flair interfered. The Bella Twins and Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss were also involved in the chaos. The match at WrestleMania will be Nia Jax and Lash Legend (c) vs. Bayley and Lyra Valkyria vs. Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair vs. The Bella Twins.
John Cena was announced as the host of WrestleMania 42.
