Patrick Clark, better known to fans as The Velveteen Dream, has been released by WWE. PWInsider first reported the story on his release.
Dream was considered one of the standouts in NXT and the belief was that he would have been given the chance to be among the top stars on Raw or SmackDown when he moved to the main roster but things that happened outside of the ring slowed down his career trajectory.
Last year, Dream was accused of sending inappropriate messages to an underaged child. To date, we have not heard anything about charges related to the accusations. WWE stood by him and brought him back but he disappeared again and has not been seen on NXT TV since last December. He as backstage at Raw a couple of weeks ago but there were no plans to use him.
Dream’s release follows the 8 names that were released on Wednesday.
