Over the weekend, WWE sent out a video that listed dream opponents for John Cena at this year’s WrestleMania. One of the names mentioned was NXT star The Velveteen Dream, who caught wind of this video and decided to express his interest in the potential showdown.

Dream reacted to the list when he wrote the following on his Twitter account, “One day The DREAM will wrestle John Cena & everyone will rejoice. REMEMBER THIS TWEET.”

If you recall, back in June 2018, the future WWE Hall of Famer took part in a Q&A session where he was asked about if he could face either Adam Cole, Ricochet, or Velveteen Dream, which one would he select. This led to the former WWE Champion responding with Dream.
“My answer is going to upset some people but I would rather face Velveteen Dream,” Cena said. “You know in those Star Wars movies with the Jedi and he says something like, ‘I think that is the One.’ I got that odd, mental, and great feeling about Velveteen Dream.”
WrestleMania 35 is scheduled to take place on Sunday, April 7, 2019 in East Rutherford, NJ at MetLife Stadium. This event airs on pay-per-view (PPV) and WWE Network.
