Veteran wrestler will be the new top heel on WWE NXT now that Adam Cole and Karrion Kross are gone

PWInsider is reporting that Johnny Gargano will be positioned as the new top heel on the WWE NXT roster now that Adam Cole and Karrion Kross are gone.

As noted earlier, Fightful reported that Cole’s contract expires this Friday and it’s expected that WWE will make him a final offer to stay. However, PWInsider is reporting that Cole is officially a free agent. If Cole does not sign a new deal with WWE this week, there’s a good possibility that he’ll end up in AEW and he would not have a non-compete, which means he would be free to appear on AEW TV immediately.

After dropping the NXT Championship to Samoa Joe at TakeOver 36, Karrion Kross is now officially a full-time member of the main roster. Last night on Raw, he debuted a new look with new ring gear and a Demolition-esque match worn for his entrance.

PWInsider added that Pete Dunne and Roderick Strong will be main players on the heel side of things. Dunne’s contract was reportedly set to expire this month. The fact that he’s being utilized as one of the top heels on the brand could be a sign that he has agreed to stay.
