Vickie Guerrero on connecting with fans as a heel, her original plans in WWE, more

Vickie Guerrero recently appeared the Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast to talk about her career in WWE. During the interview, she spoke about how she got started on WWE TV. She noted that she was only supposed to be on WWE TV for two months to help Rey Mysterio with a storyline and that it was just something that Vince McMahon wanted. He told her that they need her for two months to do a tribute to Eddie Guerrero and then they’ll be done. She noted that it was started as an experiment things and they wanted to see how things went. She said that WWE saw that she wasn’t afraid to appear in front of the camera and when they asked her to take a tombstone from The Undertaker, she told that they could try it and then they gave her a contract. She didn’t want to insult the company and just wanted to do her part and leave. Then a year turned into two and then they wanted her to be a GM and work with Edge. She added that it was one heck of a ride.

When asked about how her character stayed relevant, she noted that the fans hated her for six years and is blessed for it as not many people can keep that kind of heat going for long. She noted that she believed in her character so with the fans booing her for all of those years meant a lot to her.
