Viewership for the first WWE Friday Night SmackDown on FOX

The final viewership number is in for the first WWE Friday Night SmackDown on FOX.

The final number came in at 3,888,000 viewers, a strong number for the network but it was expected since they were hyping a ton of big names like The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin and they got a ton of hype on NFL broadcasts. Austin, The Undertaker and Sting did not appear on the show as advertised.

The Kickoff show blue carpet special that aired at 7:30 pm in most markets, drew 2,329,000 viewers.

Needless to say, WWE management is happy with these numbers. The question will be how well they do on a weekly basis without names like The Rock. The opening segment featuring The Rock and Becky Lynch was the most-watched segment of the show with over 4 million viewers turning in during the first 15 minutes.
