One interesting note from the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter written by Dave Meltzer mentioned that WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon was absent from this week’s SmackDown Live TV event.
The show, which was held in Manchester, NH at the SNHU Center, was an important episode as it served as the go-home show of the blue brand for Sunday’s Extreme Rules pay-per-view event in Philadelphia, PA at the Wells Fargo Center.
It was noted that although McMahon wasn’t at the show, “he was on the phone constantly and he reviewed the show on the phone with people one hour before it started.” Triple H worked the Gorilla position while Bruce Prichard presented the show to the other producers.
Executive Director for the show Eric Bischoff was not present backstage as he’ll start at next week’s SmackDown Live.
