Vince McMahon already has two big matches planned for ‘biggest WWE WrestleMania ever’ in 2023

Dave Meltzer confirmed in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE already has plans for WrestleMania 39 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, CA.

The story notes that the planned Becky Lynch vs. Ronda Rousey match will happen next year and this year it will be Rousey vs. Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. The other big match that WWE wants for next year is Roman Reigns vs. The Rock.

While this may be the plan right now, anything can happen between now and showtime and in regards to The Rock’s match, everything depends on his schedule but publicly, he has been open about potentially doing a match (perhaps his final one) with his cousin. Also, if you noticed, there were seeds planted for Rock vs. Reigns during a backstage skit at Survivor Series.

Last November, The Rock said the following about a potential match with Reigns: “Possibly down the road, we will see. We stay very close, myself and Roman Reigns. I’m very happy, very proud for the work that he’s doing, as well as The Usos, my other family members. Those guys will continue to do what they’re doing, and we’ll see down the road.”

In regards to Rousey, Meltzer noted that her current deal is for her to be a regular on SmackDown and to be a regular part of WWE through at least WrestleMania 39, if not longer. Meltzer noted that the company wants to push next year’s show as the “biggest WrestleMania ever.”
