Vince McMahon And WWE File Motions For Arbitration In Janel Grant Lawsuit

The lawsuit filed by Janel Grant against Vince McMahon, WWE, and John Laurinaitis is back on after a six-month pause that resumed this month due to a request for an investigation from the US Attorney’s Office.

McMahon resigned from all his roles within TKO, including executive chairman and member of the TKO Board of Directors, following a lawsuit that included horrific allegations from the former WWE employee. McMahon has denied Grant’s allegations.

McMahon was alleged to be involved in sex trafficking, sharing nude photos and explicit videos of Grant without consent, and other things from the former WWE employee. The lawsuit alleges that she signed an NDA with a payment of $3 million, but McMahon stopped paying after $1 million.

Attorneys for Vince McMahon and WWE filed motions requesting the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut to move the lawsuit to arbitration. The motion includes a signed declaration from McMahon, which states that his version of events are true under penalty of perjury.

The motion notes that the agreement McMahon and WWE entered into with Grant included a clause that “any dispute arising under or out of” that agreement must be arbitrated. It argued that Grant even filing her lawsuit was “in direct violation of her agreement to arbitrate.”

Grant’s attorney must respond by January 13.
