In the new documentary about the late, great Hulk Hogan, former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon was sharply critical of how the company produced his former top star’s final appearance. McMahon stated that he was “angry” with the presentation and felt that Hogan “deserved much more.”
The comments were made in the new Fox special, “TMZ Presents: The Real Hulk Hogan,” which premiered on Tuesday night. McMahon’s interview was one of his first public appearances since his own departure from WWE in 2024.
“It Wasn’t Set Up Properly”
Vince McMahon directed his criticism at Hulk Hogan’s appearance on the January 6, 2025, episode of Raw, which was the brand’s debut on Netflix. During the segment, Hogan, who was there to promote his new beer, was met with a noticeably mixed reaction that included boos from the live crowd.
“It wasn’t set up properly,” McMahon said of the segment. “Setting up, so to speak, this larger than life super hero, you don’t just let him walk out there. He deserved something very, very special. More than anyone, they owe him… I got angry because that’s not the way I would have done it and he deserved much more.”
