WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon alluded that the company has been hiring new people for spots on the creative event and in charge of live events during the WWE conference call last week. On previous conference calls, Vince has talked about “reimaging” live events. These shows are losing money for the company because of declining attendance.
Names such as Bruce Prichard, Dana Warrior, and Jeff Jarrett have been reported hires for the creative team. PWinsider.com is reporting that other people have been hired for the team. Keep in mind that McMahon has the final say on what is presented to fans on Raw and SmackDown Live.
Michael James Nelson and Andrea Kail have been added to the team. Nelson is known for his work on NBC’s Off Their Rocker with Betty White and on MTV’s Movie & TV Awards while Kail has worked on TruTV’s Comedy Knockout, among other projects.
Regarding the live event division, the shows are still overseen by Michael Hayes. Also, Steve Corino has been working on the creative side of the live event team as well.
WWE has also hired live events managers in Jules Rice and Stefanie Stephens. The breakdown will see Rice will be overseeing WWE live events in the Mid-West while Stephens will look over Southeastern-based live events for the company.
