Vince McMahon changes advertised match for tonight’s WWE SmackDown Live

Vince McMahon has changed his mind again on one of the main matches for tonight’s SmackDown Live.

WWE has announced that WWE Champion Kofi Kingston (with Big E and Xavier Woods in his corner) will take on United States Champion AJ Styles (with Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson in his corner) in a singles match.

The original plan was for Drew McIntyre and Elias to take on Big E and Xavier Woods. That was changed a few hours ago to The New Day (Kingston, Woods and Big E) vs. The OC (Styles, Gallows and Anderson) in a champions vs. champions match. The champions vs. champions match is no longer scheduled for tonight’s show.

As noted earlier, Vince McMahon showed up backstage earlier this afternoon and told everyone that tonight’s entire show needed to be rewritten.

Previously announced for tonight (it may or may not still happen):

– Finn Balor vs. Dolph Ziggler
– Jerry Lawler’s “King’s Court” with special guest Trish Stratus
