Vince McMahon fired a writer because Bret Hart mentioned his name in his WWE HOF speech, says Sean Waltman

Vince McMahon is not joking around when he tells everyone not to mention his name at the WWE Hall Of Fame ceremony.

On the latest “X-Pac 12360” podcast, Sean Waltman revealed that a writer was fired because of Bret Hart saying Vince McMahon’s name during his speech.

“I think Bret mentioned Vince a bunch of times,” Waltman said. “Vince got really hot. I think somebody might have gotten fired. Then we went out and said it a million times and no one got fired. It’s not funny for the guy that f*cking lost his job.”

Waltman made it clear that he was not joking. He said, “I’m not kidding. No, I’m not. Vince was pissed. I understand. That’s a thing for him. It’s his company and people go out there and they do that.”

Waltman said it was the writer responsible for the segment who was fired.

Waltman said there was some nervousness among DX because they were going to mention McMahon’s name several times during their speech.

Waltman says Shawn Michaels went up to McMahon to ask his thoughts on them mentioning his name. “Yea, have fun,” Waltman says McMahon told HBK.
