Vince McMahon Had An Insane Idea For 2022 WWE Women’s Royal Rumble

The 2022 WWE Royal Rumble was a drama-filled show behind the scenes, whether due to frustration with the Women’s Royal Rumble match, Vince McMahon making changes, or Shane McMahon trying to make the Men’s Royal Rumble about him.

Fightful Select has revealed some interesting details about the event. Well-respected producer TJ Wilson stepped away from the event’s production before the event. Sources told Fightful that Vince’s vision for the match was so crazy that collaborating with him was difficult. This, among other factors, contributed to Wilson’s absence.

Per the report, McMahon suggested Ronda Rousey eliminate the entire field in her first match in over two and a half years. McMahon was reportedly adamant about this idea because Rousey was already booked on a full-time schedule for 2022. WWE opted against the idea, and Rousey returned, entered at number 28, lasted ten minutes, eliminated four participants, and won.

Many others had pitched Sasha Banks as the winner. Further frustration stemmed from McMahon’s handling of the numerous cameos. He reportedly instructed them to “get in and get out,” resulting in extremely short appearances for Summer Rae, Sarah Logan, Cameron, Kelly Kelly, Melina, Molly Holly, and Ivory, who spent less than a minute in the ring.
