It was noted last week by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Lana is not being buried. In fact, she is now considered to be a babyface and the attacks by Nia Jax were meant to get fans to feel sympathy towards Lana.
There was some speculation this week when Lana lost to Asuka that she was still getting buried but Meltzer indicated otherwise in this week's Observer.
Lana was put through a table for the fifth week in a row by Jax on this past Monday's episode of Raw but Meltzer said that the idea here is that Lana is going to become a super babyface.
Meltzer said that turning her into a super babyface is the goal. Of course, that doesn't necessarily mean that fans will buy into it but one thing WWE has in their favor is their ability to control the crowd reactions since all of the noise in the arena is piped in. There was talk a few years ago about Lana getting a big push because Vince McMahon was a fan of her. She got a big push late last year into the early part of this year during her storyline with Bobby Lashley and now it looks like they are going to try to push her as one of the top female stars of the Raw brand.
As seen in the video below, Lana has been working hard to improve her in-ring work so she's taking this babyface push seriously.
