During today’s 4th quarter earnings call, Nick Khan was asked if Vince McMahon would step down if the future owner of the company did not want Vince on board.
Khan said that Vince would step down in that situation, so that clears up something that has been speculated on ever since word got out that Vince was back to help sell the company. At this point, there’s no word on who the favorite is to buy WWE and we don’t know who out of the rumored suitors would be interested in keeping Vince in charge.
Comcast, Endeavor, the Saudi Arabian government, and Disney have been rumored and Tony Khan has indicated that he and his father Shad Khan would be interested in talks to buy the company and merge it with AEW.
Another note during the investor call from Nick Khan was in regard to monetizing areas around the ring. Vince McMahon has been against this in the past but Nick Khan said that this is something they are looking into.
WWE closed out 2022 with $1.3 billion in net revenue. They also are setting record viewership numbers on Peacock. Click here to see the full quarterly report.
