As of this writing, no matches have been announced for the TLC pay-per-view. This is unusual because the go-home shows are next week so they would have to announce the card within days of the show.
As previously noted, the three locally advertised matches for the show are Bobby Lashley vs. Rusev, King Corbin vs. Roman Reigns, and The Kabuki Warriors defending the Women’s Tag Team Titles against Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch. None of these matches have been announced on WWE TV or on their social media account.
Those matches are scheduled for the show but Dave Meltzer reported that the reason why they have not been announced yet is that Vince McMahon hasn’t made final decisions.
McMahon’s new philosophy is that it’s all about WWE Network sign-ups and less about pay-per-view buys these days and based on patterns of sign-ups, they get the most sign-ups on the day of the show and not before. Because of this, the feeling is that they don’t need to rush anything. They did announce matches in advance of the Survivor Series pay-per-view but there were changes made to teams on the weekend of the show and one match was moved to the Kickoff show just hours before they went live. The men’s NXT team competitors were not announced until the Kickoff show and a couple of Kickoff show matches were announced on the day of the show.
Meltzer noted that McMahon has changed course several times but as of last word, Reigns vs. Corbin will have a stipulation and Lashley vs. Rusev will not. That can change within the next week.
