Vince McMahon not happy about The Undertaker appearing at Starrcast II during AEW Double Or Nothing weekend

There was a reason why this week’s WWE Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live felt different with the influx of NXT talent on both shows. The declining ratings and the moves being made by AEW caused some changes to Raw on Monday night.

On Monday, the @WrestleVotes Twitter account reported that creative was told to come up with “outside the box” things for the show this week. Meltzer noted that McMahon came up with the idea to bring the top NXT names to the main roster.

He noted that McMahon is not really up-to-date with what is going on in NXT but essentially he asked, “who are the four best guys?”

There was also unhappiness about The Undertaker being announced for Starrcast II, which takes place in Las Vegas during AEW’s Double Or Nothing weekend. This was discussed on Wrestling Observer Radio.

Meltzer said about The Undertaker: “there was definite unhappiness about him doing the Starrcast thing. A lot.”

For those of you that have asked, Starrcast II is being run independently by Conrad Thompson and Taker is not going to appear at Double Or Nothing. On Starrcast II advertising he is being advertised as “Mark Calloway aka The Undertaker” so that is how they are getting around the trademark owned by WWE.
