Vince McMahon has plenty of competitors in the business world but few people have taken him to the limit like Ted Turner. Their feud across brands, companies, and television empires created the historic Monday Night War. In the end, everyone seemed to come out of that situation as a winner especially the fans. But although it’s been nearly two decades since the war ended that doesn’t mean the Vince McMahon and Ted Turner personal rivalry is over just yet.
Now McMahon has a new point to boast about if the two multimedia juggernauts are still in communication. It was noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that first the first time ever Vince McMahon’s personal value could be greater than Turner’s.
With WWE’s latest television contracts and the inflation of WWE stock, Vince McMahon’s holdings in WWE are now valued at $1.845 billion meaning it is possible he could be worth more than the man behind the Turner Empire. This is a pretty big deal if it is true because McMahon’s increased value only means he is an even more powerful player in a greater sense outside of WWE.
It looks like we’ll be seeing the ramifications of WWE’s new deal with Fox for a long time to come. Only time will tell if Vince McMahon will eventually break the $2 billion mark with his WWE stock but at this rate, it’s not out of the realm of possibility.
