Vince McMahon reportedly was not at WWE SmackDown

WWE Friday Night SmackDown seems to be on a positive momentum swing with their ratings increasing in recent weeks and this week’s show was one of the most-watched episodes in several months. This past Friday’s show reportedly happened without Vince McMahon being there.

Ringside News reports that Vince McMahon was not at Tropicana Field and the people who were in charge of the show were Triple H and Kevin Dunn.

It’s not unusual for McMahon to miss a taping and he will usually call in via Zoom but it was notable that he wasn’t there this week since he’s been at most of the SmackDown tapings since they stopped touring because of the pandemic.

There’s no word on why McMahon was not at the taping but before anyone begins to speculate, his health is said to be fine. WrestlingNews.co reported a couple of weeks ago that McMahon still works out and there are no signs that his health is declining, despite what Ryback claimed on Twitter.

Here is what a WWE source said about McMahon’s health: “Vince is fine. He still trains hard and he might forget some things here and there but that is because he has so many things on his plate. There is nothing about him that feels different other than he has aged just like all of us age. I think because of Covid he gets more time to sleep since he doesn’t have to travel as much but that is the only thing that has changed about him.”

In addition to his home in Stamford, CT, Vince also has a home a few hours from Tampa in Boca Raton, FL.
