What fans saw last night on WWE Monday Night Raw was not what was originally scripted by the writers.
Dave Meltzer noted that Vince McMahon tore up the script several times before the show and the show was being rewritten just a couple of hours before they went on the air. This has happened with more frequency over the last couple of years.
WrestlingNews.co was told that the original plan for Raw did not include Bobby Lashley wrestling Kofi Kingston and the idea to have Lashley lose via a distraction finish was decided on an hour before the show.
Ringside News reported that there was some shuffling on Sunday for WrestleMania Backlash. The original plan was for the WWE Championship match featuring Bobby Lashley vs. Braun Strowman vs. Drew McIntyre to close out the show but plans changed and Vince McMahon decided to close the show with Roman Reigns vs. Cesaro.
Meltzer noted that the entire order of the matches for WrestleMania Backlash were changed more than once on the day of the show.
