Vince McMahon rips the script and rewrites tonight’s entire WWE SmackDown Live show

There are lots of changes being made to tonight’s WWE SmackDown Live and more than usual.

Ryan Satin first wrote about the rewrites at SmackDown and we’ve confirmed that most (or all) of the show is being rewritten.

One change is the announcement of a champions vs. champions match for tonight’s show. The original plan was for Drew McIntyre and Elias vs. Big E and Xavier Woods. That has been changed to The OC (AJ Styles, Luke Gallows and AJ Styles) vs. The New Day (Big E, Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston).

Tonight’s episode of SmackDown Live is set for the FedExForum in Memphis, TN and will also feature the return of WWE Hall Of Famer Trish Stratus. She will be the special guest on Jerry Lawler’s “King’s Court.” Also announced for tonight is Finn Balor vs. Dolph Ziggler.

There could be more changes made before the show goes on the air. Last week, Vince McMahon showed up backstage around 4 pm and he made the call to make some last-minute changes to the show so that is not unusual but it’s less common to see the entire show rewritten with just hours before they go on the air.

The people I spoke to backstage realize that they will be up against the Democratic Presidential Debate on CNN so that could affect tonight’s viewership.
