As a follow-up to what was reported earlier about a pitch made to hold WWE WrestleMania at the Performance Center, @WrestleVotes notes that Vince McMahon does not want to host the event in an empty stadium. McMahon is said to be “very much against” the idea of WrestleMania in a stadium with no fans inside and that is the least favorite option on the table.
Furthermore, WV states that the idea of moving WrestleMania has very little support but a source says the support is coming from a high place. At this time, the leading idea is to postpone the show. As noted earlier, June 7 was a potential date that was circulating among some wrestlers over the weekend but that has not been confirmed by WWE officials.
Moving the show to another date will be a logistical nightmare when you consider that a large amount of the fans who go to Mania travel from different states and countries and they would need to figure out what to do with the other events scheduled for Mania weekend, including NXT TakeOver and the WWE Hall Of Fame.
TMZ reported earlier today that McMahon very much wants to run the show on April 5th as scheduled but nothing is set in stone.
What makes matters more complex is that if the coronavirus is not contained by June then WWE will need to move the show again, essentially putting the show closer to SummerSlam.
