Ric Flair noted on his podcast that Vince McMahon offered Shawn Michaels a ton of money to do an angle at the Royal Rumble. The angle would have been the start of something that would culminate at WrestleMania. Obviously, the angle did not happen so whatever plans Vince had at the time will not be happening. I guess anything is possible though if Vince comes back at him with another money offer.
On his podcast, Flair said, “They want him so bad for Royal Rumble, but he ain’t budging from that ranch down there in Texas.”
Michaels will be in Dallas during WrestleMania week. I believe he is booked for WrestleCon. It is interesting that he is not listed on any of the WrestleMania Axxess signings as of now. Michaels has told friends that he is happy as a retired wrestler and while you never say never in the wrestling business, he wants his match with The Undertaker to remain as his last match.
Batista has also turned down a spot at WrestleMania. He would have been a special referee in one of the main matches. He is still open to being at the show but creative has to come up with something he would be happy with.
