D-Von Dudley Suffered An Injury Seconds Into His Final Match

D-Von Dudley, one-half of the legendary Team 3D, revealed he suffered a shoulder injury mere moments into the final match of his team’s career against The Hardys at the recent TNA Bound for Glory event in Lowell, Massachusetts. The contest, a tables match that served as the latest and final chapter in the storied rivalry between the two tag teams, left both sides battered.

D-Von disclosed the extent of the damage during an appearance on the Duke Loves Rasslin podcast. The incident occurred while executing the team’s signature finishing maneuver, the 3D, and was a direct result of D-Von trying to protect Matt Hardy on the landing. “I actually jarred my shoulder coming down on the 3D in the first 30 seconds of the match,” D-Von stated.

The Decision to Alter the Landing

The former WWE World Tag Team Champion explained his thought process and the immediate consequence of the landing. “I jarred my shoulder trying to protect Matt instead of just falling flat on my back,” D-Von revealed. “I went to my side and came down on my elbow, which shot up into my shoulder so badly that the next day I couldn’t move my arm”.

Despite the intense pain and the severity of the injury, D-Von toughed it out and finished the tables match. D-Von was not the only member of the legendary teams to walk away wounded. Jeff Hardy suffered a nasty gash on the back of his head after he attempted to protect D-Von during a ladder spot.
