Warrant issued for Heath Slater’s arrest (UPDATED)

A warrant for Heath Slater (real name Heath Miller) has been issued by Atlanta police after an incident at the WrestleMania 27 after party in 2011. The news is being reported locally on Atlanta’s Fox 5 television. Slater is accused of putting Corinne Oliver, who worked security at the event, in a chokehold and attempting to get her in an elevator and dragging her back to his room at the Hyatt Regency. She claims that the alleged attacked caused damage to five vertebrae in her back.

The incidient was reported the morning after the incident to her supervisor. A police report was not filed until three months later. Oliver says that she waited for her supervisors at Allied Barton Securities to file the police report, which they never did. She also says that other wrestlers witnessed the incident and did not help. WWE attorney Jerry McDevitt issued a statement saying that the charges are being filed against Slater as an individual and not against the company. The charge in the police report is described as “simple assault/battery.”

6pm eastern UPDATE:  Dave Meltzer noted today that when this story first broke in 2011, source in WWE were saying that Slater was with his fiancee that night. There were others that said that Slater and his girlfriend got engaged on that evening.

WWE issued the following statement:

“WWE has been advised that a misdemeanor arrest warrant has been issued against Heath Miller (aka Heath Slater), but we have not seen a copy or been provided with the underlying charges,” the company released in a statement today. “Once this information is received by WWE, we will take the appropriate action.”
