WATCH: Adam Cole gets heated during interview with Pat McAfee

Adam Cole certainly got fans talking about him after an interesting situation happened during an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show.

McAfee, a former punter for the Indianapolis Colts and NXT analyst, had the former NXT Champion on his show as Cole was in town visiting family.

In the interview, McAfee was taking jabs at Cole such as being a small wrestler and comparisons between Cole and WWE Hall Of Famer Shawn Michaels. McAfee noted that Cole was the longest reigning NXT Champion because of the help from The Undisputed Era.

Cole pushed over the microphone before getting up and yelling at McAfee. He also pushed McAfee’s co-host Ty Schmit before storming off the set. They exchanged some F-bombs in the process.

It’s hard to tell whether they were just having fun to get fans talking or if this was a real situation. McAfee is a big-time wrestling fan. You can watch the entire interview by clicking on the player below (the incident is timestamped):

McAfee issued a statement following the show by writing the following:

“Hindsight is always 20/20 but I obviously regret this DM. I thought a convo between us could’ve been good content #ForTheShow but instead it ended in the most insane way imaginable. He broke a mic, a headset, pushed @tyschmit, & stormed out of our office. I’ve sat here for 20. Minutes now trying to figure out what the hell just happened. I obviously never mean to disrespect anybody but, fuck that guy. There’s no way that’s how an ADULT human should act. I pride our show on being a positive, good time having, upbeat show & he will never be invited back.”
