Bayley appeared on ESPN’s SportsCenter on Thursday night to talk to Jonathan Coachman about WWE. A recap package of Monday’s RAW and Tuesday’s SmackDown Live was shown.
Coachman asked her about her main roster debut. Bayley brought up the in-ring segment with WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley several weeks ago on RAW. Bayley said she had been a big fan of his for a long time. Bayley said that the reaction from the fans was heartwarming for her, and she felt welcomed, and she knew she belonged there.
When asked what made her want to get into pro wrestling, Bayley explained that she had a different childhood because she has always wanted to be a wrestler and wore wrestling t-shirts while attending school. She started watching WWE when she was ten years old, and Randy Savage was her favorite while growing up.
When asked about her role in WWE, Bayley said that women have grown in WWE with the women’s revolution. Bayley brought up WWE having two Women’s Titles (RAW Women’s Title held by Charlotte and the SmackDown Live Women’s Title held by Becky Lynch) in the company. Bayley want fans to buy a ticket to watch women wrestle. Bayley added that she wants to show people that dreams can come true because her dreams have come true. Bayley explained that she once a fan and attended hundreds of WWE events. Bayley wants to give the fans the best moment possible while attending events.
Coachman asked if it was frustrating or motivating seeing Charlotte, Sasha Banks, and Lynch being called up to the main roster before she was. Bayley said that it’s a little bit of both. Bayley explained that they all became so close in NXT, and she felt like she had a small part in them getting called up but she was watching it from her couch. Bayley wishes she was called up sooner than she was and not a year after they got called up. Bayley praised them for their triple threat match at WrestleMania 32, and that was the night she realized that she had nothing else to do in NXT, and she felt like she needed to get called up.
Finally, Coachman asked her about her chemistry with Banks. Bayley said that she and Banks had chemistry since the beginning in NXT. Bayley brought up that she wrestled Banks for the first time a couple of years ago, and they just clicked right away. They have the same goal, which is taking women’s wrestling to the next level. Bayley explained that they both want to have the best match on the show and one-up each other every time they wrestle.
Bayley thanked ESPN for having him on the show, and this wrapped up the segment.
