For those that did not watch the WWE Draft coverage on the WWE Network, Cesaro was interviewed by JoJo and he asked about his thoughts on the draft.
He said that he was not happy being drafted in the 6th round and he felt that he should at least be in the top 10. Cesaro also expressed his frustration with being drafted to Raw because the talk has been that Smackdown would be considered the wrestling show and he thinks that he would be a better fit for that show.
JoJo asked about his thoughts on Stephanie McMahon and Mick Foley and whether they could co-exist. Cesaro was very candid with his response. He said, “honestly, that’s part of the problem that you just asked me that question because I don’t really care. I think Raw, going forward, needs to be about the Superstars. It needs to be about the performers in the ring and not about how Stephanie McMahon and Mick Foley co-exist. They need to be there to mediate and make the best show but that does not need to be the focus. The focus should be on the Superstars and who got drafted. We have Seth Rollins, New Day, Finn Balor coming up from NXT. Those are the people that we should be here talking about but we’re talking about Stephanie McMahon and Mick Foley which is annoying to me. There’s always a lot of talking.”
For anyone wondering, that was not scripted and most of the backstage interviews on the WWE Network are not scripted. I’ll just say that there are people privately praising Cesaro and his comments reflect some of the frustration being felt by several of the wrestlers backstage. Hopefully, management listens to him and real changes are made to the product. You can check out the interview below:
You might have noticed the stats that popped up on the screen during the interview. The stats shown were actually for Bubba Ray Dudley so that could indicate that they had plans to split up The Dudley Boys before they changed their mind. I know that they were making changes to the draft picks just hours before they went live on Tuesday night so I’m guessing that the graphics team had to change some things on the fly and that might be why they had the wrong stats up for Cesaro.

UPDATE: WWE might be looking to turn this into a storyline because they’ve uploaded the video to their YouTube account but Dave Meltzer has confirmed that the interview was a shoot.
