Chris Jericho recently did an interview with Rock 100.5 ATL's Bailey and Southside. During the interview, he was asked about how he came up with the idea for The List, which was heavily over with fans to the point that WWE sold them on their website. Jericho brought up that he was working with former pro wrestler and current WWE creative writer Jimmy Jacobs. He recalled Jacobs coming up to him and telling him that he would do something where he put somebody on this list. Jericho said that he knew a guy who used to put people’s names on a list that he didn’t like and it sounded like funny. Jericho noted that the whole concept of The List went through the roof. “The List is more popular than 85% of the guys on the show. The List is more popular than I am,” Jericho said. He added that you never know what’s going to make an impression with the fans.
Despite the fact that Jericho had been using the phrase 'stupid idiot' for years, the term really caught on with the fans during his latest run with the company. Jericho recalled that when he started saying that, Vince McMahon would tell him that nobody could say this or get away with this other than him. Jericho said that it got heat and he would call fans that but then suddenly people loved it.
Jericho also talked about his band Fozzy, rock stars he doesn’t like, getting attacked by a bear in the dark, and more. You can watch the interview here:
