As we noted on Saturday night, WWE paid tribute to the legends of the NWA/WCW in Greensboro. Legends such as The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express, Arn Anderson, Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat, and Ric Flair made appearances. Perhaps, the most emotional part of the night was when they showed a tribute to Dusty Rhodes, the man that is credited with coming up with the Starrcade name. That was followed by a match between Dustin Rhodes and Dash Wilder. Rhodes initially came out to his Goldust theme but he took off the robe and his old WCW “The Natural” theme played to the delight of the fans in attendance.
After his match, he talked about how emotional it was to hear the tribute and to go out in front of the fans in Greensboro. He said that it was special to him when he, Cody, and his father got to work with The Shield a few years ago. He said that he’s stood in the ring in Greensboro many times but it was very emotional for him to go out there as Dustin Rhodes.

There is already talk about running another Starrcade-themed show next year in Greensboro. The show on Saturday was considered a success and it was one of the highest-grossing house shows of the year so this could become a yearly thing.
