Fans have gotten their first look at WWE superstar Cody Rhodes in the upcoming The Naked Gun reboot. Paramount Pictures’ new trailer for the highly anticipated comedy features Rhodes in a small but memorable role.
In the trailer, which stars Liam Neeson as Frank Drebin Jr., Rhodes is seen portraying a bartender. During a scene in a bar, Neeson’s character smashes a glass into Rhodes’ face, causing his nose to break in a moment of classic slapstick comedy, true to the film series’ style.
This appearance confirms what Rhodes had previously stated, that his role in the film would be a small cameo and not a substantial part. His scene provides a quick, comedic moment for wrestling fans to enjoy in the reboot of the iconic Leslie Nielsen franchise.
Akiva Schaffer directs the film and features a cast that includes Liam Neeson, Pamela Anderson, Paul Walter Hauser, and Kevin Durand. While this is just a brief cameo, it marks a significant Hollywood appearance for one of WWE’s top stars, continuing the trend of wrestlers crossing over to the big screen.
The movie is scheduled to be released in theaters on August 1, 2025.
