WATCH: Jim Ross calls out WWE ‘bullsh**’ and adds fuel to the rumors about a new wrestling promotion

Jim Ross, Jerry “The King” Lawler and Chris Jericho took part in a Q&A session on the Jericho Cruise last night and there was one line said by JR that raised a few eyebrows.

For those of you that missed it last week, Dave Meltzer reported last week that WWE tried to get Rey Mysterio to pull out of the cruise. WWE tried this even though Mysterio told them before he signed a contract with them that he wanted to fulfill his commitment to Jericho.

JR referenced the rumors about the new wrestling company during the Q&A, in an apparent response to the report about Mysterio and WWE.

JR said, “Chris is here bringing brands together, that stuff that’s going on is embarrassing…somebody along the way is going to create another company and they won’t have to worry about that bullshit.”

The folks at BroBible were able to get a portion of what JR said and you can see it below:

If the story is true, I would not expect anyone involved to confirm anything until everyone is free from their contractual commitments. With that being said, it is surprising to see JR rip on WWE while he is still under contract with them and these comments will only add fuel to the rumors that were first reported by Jason Powell at and Brad Davis at SEScoops.

The story is that Tony Khan, son of billionaire Jacksonville Jaguars Shahid Khan, is a wrestling fan. Tony and members of The Elite, JR and Chris Jericho are following each other on Twitter. The rumor is that Tony Khan is interested in funding a new wrestling promotion. However, Dave Meltzer reported that these rumors are premature and there is no commitment and members of The Elite are still under contract to ROH and NJPW and they will need to wait until January to decide on their future, which could include WWE if the money is right. We’ll see how things shake out in a few months.
