WATCH: John Cena Revives “Juan Cena” Character

Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena, currently on his 2025 heel retirement tour, gave WWE fans a nostalgic and fun moment at CCXP Mexico by briefly bringing back his cult-favorite alter ego, “Juan Cena.”

While on stage, the host presented Cena with a Lucha Libre mask, joking about “Juan Cena” making an appearance. Cena initially played coy. After some playful teasing with the audience, Cena put on the mask.

He then acknowledged the character’s history, which was a short-lived gimmick in late 2010 during Cena’s feud with The Nexus. He returned to TV under a mask after being “fired” in storyline.
