WATCH: Jon Jones responds to Brock Lesnar: “I’ll handle DC first, then I’ll handle Brock”

Although UFC’s Jeff Novitzky has downplayed reports about Brock Lesnar entering the USADA drug testing pool and Dana White has said that he hasn’t spoken to Lesnar, the rumors are not dying down, at least not right now because Lesnar has responded to recent comments made by Jon Jones on a Facebook Q & A session.

“Would I fight Jon Jones? Anytime, anywhere,” Lesnar told the Associated Press. “Right now he should be worried about D.C. on Saturday night.” That is a clear indication that he is at least considering returning to the Octagon for another fight. Jones will face Daniel Cormier at UFC 214 on Saturday night for the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship. At Friday’s UFC 214 pre-fight press conference, in response to Lesnar, Jones said, “I’ll handle DC first, then I’ll handle Brock.”

I should add that Dana White said that he has not talked to Lesnar and he doesn’t know where these Jones-Lesnar rumors are coming from. But, it’s Dana White, and you can’t always take him at his word so we’ll see what happens in a few months.

UFC, according to Dave Meltzer, is interested in getting Lesnar back for another big pay-per-view. If he does fight again then he would have to wait five months after he re-enters the USADA drug testing pool. If the Jones-Lesnar fight happens then Jones would have to move up to heavyweight. Lesnar would also have to get WWE’s blessing unless he waits until after WrestleMania 34 when his WWE contract expires. The feeling with some people is that Lesnar wants to get the word out on his interest in fighting so that he could have leverage with WWE during contract renewal talks.

For now, Lesnar is focused on his next big match with WWE. Next month at SummerSlam, he will defend the WWE Universal Championship in a Fatal 4-Way against Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman, and Samoa Joe. There’s been a lot of speculation that he will be dropping the title on that show.
