In January, KUSHIDA let New Japan Pro Wrestling management know that he was going elsewhere. At the time, it was widely expected that he was on his way to WWE.
Today, WWE confirmed the news and KUSHIDA just signed a deal with the company in New York City. The deal was signed just hours before NXT TakeOver: New York.
The 35-year-old has been wrestling since 2005. He’s wrestled all over the world for promotions such as, CMLL, Smash Wrestling and All Japan Pro Wrestling. Among many titles, he’s a 6-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion and a former Ring Of Honor Television Champion. He also has a 6-0-2 Mixed Martial Arts record.
